Outside resources

As I note elsewhere on this site, the information I provide here is almost entirely my own observations of aphids with the very best identification I can accomplish and that I think is somewhat meaningful (some groups have terrible species-level taxonomy, making identification to species meaningless at best, misleading at worst).  There are two absolutely amazing online resources I use to aid in identification (in combination with original literature) and get the currently accepted names.  These sites are:

Aphids on the World’s Plants, by R.L. Blackman and V.F. Eastop

and

Aphid Species File by Colin Favret and David C. Eades

For psyllids there are also very good outside resources. The main one I have used a bit is:

Psyl’list by David Ouvrard

For family classification I have used the following paper:

DANIEL BURCKHARDT & DAVID OUVRARD. 2012. A revised classification of the jumping plant-lice (Hemiptera: Psylloidea). Zootaxa 3509: 1–34.
