When I started this site I had no immediate plans to cover details of taxonomy. I wanted to focus on presenting photos and biological information rather than details of taxonomic characters, identification, nomenclature, etc. Since retiring from my paid work in 2024 I have started planning for taxonomic essays and projects of various lengths and complexities to be posted on AphidTrek. These will small projects like evaluations of identification keys from old papers, discussions of ranges of variation in species, discussion of putative undescribed species, the details of taxonomy of genera of interest, etc.
