{"id":838,"date":"2016-01-10T03:52:19","date_gmt":"2016-01-10T03:52:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aphidtrek.org\/?page_id=838"},"modified":"2024-12-16T20:18:43","modified_gmt":"2024-12-16T20:18:43","slug":"microsiphoniella","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/aphidtrek.org\/?page_id=838","title":{"rendered":"Microsiphoniella"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>Microsiphoniella<\/em> Hille Ris Lambers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This page updated:\u00a0December 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This genus is for about 4 species related to the palaearctic <em>Microsiphum<\/em>.&nbsp; All species of the group feed on <em>Artemisia<\/em> (including <em>Serephidium<\/em>), both shrubs and herbs.&nbsp; I note above that there are &#8216;about 4 species&#8217; because using existing keys it is not clear how many species there are, and identification to species is generally challenging or misleading.&nbsp; This is one of many groups in western North America that could be cleared up with some relatively straight-forward concerted study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve been interested that this genus is very uncommon in western Colorado where I&#8217;ve lived since 2021. In Washington, Oregon, Idaho, etc. <em>Microsiphoniella<\/em> is common to such an extent that I walk past many infestations.
